Easy to Do Gout Remedies
After a couple of beers and a cup or two of those free bar peanuts, you feel a familiar tingling on your big toe. Oh no, say hello (or welcome back for some of us “pros”) to a type of arthritis occurring after crystallization of a massive amount of uric acid.
The abominable gout bout. Gout can also occur in other parts of the body aside from your toes, specifically the hand joints, knees, wrists, elbows and ankles. In extreme cases, they can cause you to have a lump the size of a cherry on the affected area.
For those experiencing gout, (which is about 2 million of the American population), here are some gout remedies that are known to be effective.
• Anti-inflammatory or pain killer drugs like allopurinol or colchicine are used to treat gouts but they have side effects like weakening of the liver function or even constant bruising. • Drinking water may not seem like a very effective way to treat gout but you have to note that you need to drink a glass full of water 8 times a day, seven times a week, 4 times a month, 12 times a year. Not just when you are feeling the pain. If you get sick and tired of the taste of water, add some juice to it or tea. Lemonade is also a great substitute for plain water as it also has calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate kills acids in your system and also has that yummy taste. One of the most perfect gout remedies, tasty, cheap and effective.
• Eat bananas or anything with high potassium in it like a cup of orange juice, baby carrots or tomato sauce that cannot be salted.
• Great news! Having sexual intercourse, based to a study, lowers the risk of gout in men.
• Baking soda neutralizes the uric acid. Take a half teaspoon dose with a half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and mix it all with a glass full of water. Or you can just mix a teaspoon of baking soda with a glass of water. Drink this before going to bed and another glass as soon as you wake up.
• Speaking of apple cider vinegar, if you mix two tablespoons of this with honey (unprocessed) with a glass of warm water and you drink it every after meal, that in itself is one of the most preventive but cheapest gout remedies.
• Vegetables are also a sure fire gout remedies so take that blender and go to your favorite supermarket. Buy some beets, cucumber and carrot, chop them all up and throw them in the blender. Pinch your nose while drinking because it may taste a tad bit awful or add some apples in it to make the concoction a tad bit easier to swallow. • You can also try pressing on some pressure points. These may be unusual gout remedies but they do work.
o Press on the area between the big toe and the ball of the foot. o Press on the area below the nose’ center toward the upper lip.
